Free Cell is one of the standard time-wasting distractions that come with Windows. Normally the objective of the game, like in most solitaire games, is to remove all of the cards from the playing field. But for some of the card layouts, there are more challenging and interesting possible objectives. Here are a number I have stumbled upon. To play these games, chose the " Select Game" option under "Game" in Free Cell.
Terminology:
Table = the playing
field where the cards are initially laid out
Home cells = the upper right
hand four cells where you pile the cards within suits in order
Free cells = the top left-hand
four cells
